The USB extension board (UXB) extends the two on board USB 2.0 Type A connectors that are available as standard on all Virtual Panel Modules (VPM) and Standard Display Modules (SDM) to the front of the system cabinet for ease of programming and service.

System USB ports are used for programming and to backup/restore any or all system modules to/from any standard USB Mass Storage Device.

The UXB on the IPF-XL is protected from unauthorized access by a locked Lexan door. IPF-xy and REM-R cabinetry utilize the system’s key activated enable/disable switch (USB-KS) which enables/disables the UXB along with all display functions/buttons.

Programming an IPF distributed or pre-configured system from any VPM or SDM module is accomplished by using the optional built-in QWERTY keypad or by connecting any USB enabled wired or wireless keyboard to the either of the systems two USB ports.. The panel configuration of individual modules or all modules may be easily downloaded/uploaded at any time to/from any standard USB Mass Storage Device. No PC is required.
