The Discovery range of intelligent fire detectors from As Built Engineered Systems are advanced in design and have unique features that benefit the installer and end user.

The range includes photoelectric (DISC-P) and ionization (DISC-I) smoke detectors, heat detectors (DISC-T) and a multisensor DISC-M). All have an unobtrusive profile, a zero insertion force base, user friendly addressing and extended data and alarm functions.

Each detector in the Discovery range can operate in one of five response modes, any of which can be selected from the control panel. Each mode corresponds to a unique response behavior, broadly related to sensitivity to fire. Whatever the type of detector, mode 1 will give a higher sensitivity to fire than mode 5. The selection of the most suitable mode depends on the application.

Discovery detectors also employ use of thepatented XPert programming card toprovide simple, user friendly and accurate identification of detector locations whereby a coded card, placed into the side of the base, is read by any detector that is inserted into the base. Using the XPert addressing card simplifies and speeds up the installation and commissioning processes. Addressing errors during maintenance and service are eliminated. Any detectors that are maintained or inadvertently put back into the wrong location will not impact device programming or any of the output events that are generated by a device address including information that is automatically reported to a central receiving service under emergency situations.
